About Us
Blind Sport NZ is the National Disability Sport Organisation for blind and low vision sport in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We believe that sport enriches the lives of New Zealanders who are blind or have low vision. Our purpose is to collaborate, educate, communicate, and advocate alongside sport organisations and partners to ensure athletes with vision impairment have access to quality experiences and meaningful opportunities in sport, now and into the future.

What is the core mahi of Blind Sport NZ?
We connect individuals and sports groups across Aotearoa to vision impairment sport opportunities, athletes, quality coaches or sports clubs or groups.
We support grassroots participation and competitive pathways alongside our sport partners.
We create resources and advice on how to access information related to sport, adapt sport rules and adapt sports equipment.
We share blind and low vision athlete sport achievements to inspire others.
We provide awareness training for clubs and organisations across sport, education and health sectors.
Access to Sports kits with adaptive equipment, free of charge, and help with lesson plans or advice.
Provide assistance to get the right information and networking for sporting goals of athletes and whanau supporting them.
Link in with our international partners to ensure we keep up to date and current.
